Plus: in-person medical visits

With Benefi Plus, you get 8 in-person medical visits each year: 5 primary care visits, 1 specialist visit, and 2 urgent care visits. These visits are in addition to unlimited Virtual Primary Care through the Benefi app and work at any provider in the First Health network.

Your in-person visit allowance

Your Plus plan includes these annual visit types:

Primary care visits (5 per year) Use these for routine check-ups, managing chronic conditions, or addressing health concerns that need hands-on examination. Primary care visits include internal medicine, family practice, and general practitioner appointments.

Specialist visit (1 per year) See a specialist for conditions requiring focused expertise. This covers dermatology, cardiology, orthopedics, ENT, and other specialty care. You'll need a referral from your Benefi doctor or primary care provider.

Urgent care visits (2 per year) For non-emergency situations that need same-day attention: minor injuries, infections, or sudden illness. Urgent care centers typically have evening and weekend hours when primary care offices are closed.

How copays work

Each in-person medical visit requires a copay at the time of service. Copay amounts vary by visit type and are outlined in your plan documents. Virtual Primary Care visits through the Benefi app remain $0 with no copays.

Remember that preventive care visits are separate from your medical visit allowance. Annual physicals, well-woman exams, immunizations, and other preventive services are covered at 100% in-network with no copays and don't count against your 8 medical visits.

Using your visits wisely

Start with Virtual Primary Care for most health needs. Benefi doctors can diagnose, prescribe, and treat many conditions through text, phone, or video. They'll recommend an in-person visit when physical examination or procedures are necessary.

Track your remaining visits in the Benefi app. The visit counter resets each plan year. Unused visits don't roll over to the next year.

Plus members also get 10 mental health therapy sessions annually (compared to 6 on Essential). These behavioral health visits are separate from your medical visit allowance.
